The Activities Subcommittee plans and hosts events that bring NA members together in fellowship while helping support the work of the Greater Middle Tennessee Area.

Activities provide opportunities for members to have fun in recovery, strengthen unity within the fellowship, and demonstrate that a clean life can be enjoyable. In addition to building fellowship, many events also raise funds that help the Area continue carrying the message of Narcotics Anonymous.

The Activities Committee serves the Greater Middle Tennessee Area by:

• Planning and organizing NA events such as speaker meetings, picnics, dances, game nights, workshops, and other fellowship activities.
• Coordinating fundraisers that help support the Area’s services while maintaining responsible financial stewardship.
• Recruiting volunteers to help organize, set up, run, and clean up events.
• Working with other Area committees to avoid scheduling conflicts and promote upcoming events.
• Creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment where members and newcomers can experience recovery together.
• Managing event finances responsibly and contributing funds above the committee’s prudent reserve back to the Area to support its services.
• Encouraging participation in service by giving members opportunities to become involved in planning and supporting Area events.

Everything the Activities Committee does is guided by the Twelve Traditions and Twelve Concepts of Narcotics Anonymous. While the committee organizes enjoyable events, its purpose is much more than entertainment. Activities strengthen unity, encourage involvement in service, provide opportunities for fellowship, and help generate financial support so the Greater Middle Tennessee Area can continue carrying the message of recovery to the addict who still suffers.
