Getting started with Narcotics Anonymous
Want to stop using drugs?
If you’re looking for support, you can connect with Narcotics Anonymous. This guide helps you find a meeting, contact local NA, and explore NA’s own newcomer readings.
Where NA fits
Narcotics Anonymous offers free peer support through meetings and a Twelve Step program. Members share their experience of addiction and recovery.
NA’s Welcome to Narcotics Anonymous is written for people coming to NA. It is a place to read the fellowship’s message in its own words.
Choose a way to connect with NA
You can use whichever contact route is accessible to you. The options below do not require you to submit personal information to this page.

Make sense of a meeting listing
Opening the meeting details gives you the information to plan a first visit. These are the fields to check in our finder.
- Day and time
- Check both the day and start time. The local schedule on this site uses Central time. Online listings elsewhere may use a different time zone.
- In person, online or hybrid
- For an in-person visit, use the venue address and entry notes. For an online visit, use the online access information. Hybrid meetings list both ways to attend.
- Open or closed
- Closed meetings include people who think they may have a drug problem. If someone without a drug problem is accompanying you, choose an open meeting.
- Other access notes
- Read the listing’s format labels and location instructions. Check any facility requirements before travelling. Our meeting-code guide explains the labels.
Check local meeting announcements for changes. The listing’s full details are the next place to look if a short schedule entry is unclear.
Explore the newcomer readings
These links open the complete publications on the NA World Services website. Choose the topic you want to read about; you do not need to follow a course or complete a checklist here.
Coming back after using again?
You are welcome to return to NA. The current finder can help you reconnect with a meeting, including if its time or location has changed since your last visit.
