NA Meeting Codes and Formats

Use this guide to understand the abbreviations in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee meeting schedule. If you are new to NA, read what to expect at your first meeting.

Open and closed meetings

C – Closed: For addicts and people who think they may have a drug problem.

O – Open: Anyone interested in NA may attend, including nonaddict visitors.

These terms describe who may attend; “closed” does not mean the meeting is canceled. Please respect the anonymity of those present and what they share. See The Group Booklet for NA’s explanation of open and closed meetings.
