Nashville Drug Help: WHAT IS NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS?

About Narcotics Anonymous in Nashville

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a community of men and women recovering from drug addiction that meet on a regular basis. We are individuals who have found recovery from substance abuse through the 12-step approach. Our meetings are found all across the United States and most of the world, including over 100 meetings in Nashville TN and surrounding areas.

There are many of us that have gotten clean in a protected environment such as a rehab center, or other type of treatment center, and there are many who have gotten clean without the aforementioned services.

Requirement for Membership

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using. Our meetings are run by our very own members. Anyone can attend our meetings and does not need to be referred by an inpatient, detox, addiction counseling, health institute, or other types of drug and alcohol program.

Where Are Our Meetings

Our meetings are spread all over the Middle Tennessee area. Due to the many options around the Nashville TN areas, adults and children have a good chance of finding a meeting close to their location.

Time-tested Recovery For Substance Abuse Disorders

12 Step programs have been around since 1935 and have been a form of drug and alcohol treatment ever since. Nashville TN and surrounding areas are blessed to have well over 100 meetings to choose from every week.

Does It Cost Anything?

It is important to note that our meetings are available for anyone struggling with addiction. We are fully self-supporting by non-required donations supplied by our members. Since we do not accept payment from members, our doors are open even if you do not have private health insurance.

We cannot stress enough that donations are NOT required. We are here for you and expect nothing from you. We have all suffered from the grips of addiction and have found treatment through the 12 steps.

Many suffering from addiction attended their first meetings even while suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

Who Attends Our Meetings?

Our members are people from all walks of life that often felt we had nowhere else to go due to our drug and substance use. We treat recovery as a team sport and integrate it as a part of our everyday life to mitigate the symptoms of our disease.

NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs.

There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. We suggest that you keep an open mind and give yourself a break. Our program is a set of principles written so simply that we can follow them in our daily lives. The most important thing about them is that they work.

What to Know if Going to a Meeting for the First Time

We have learned from our group experience that those who keep coming to our meetings regularly stay clean.

Narcotics Anonymous is a twelve-step fellowship similar to Alcoholics Anonymous which has helped countless people obtain and maintain sobriety from alcohol abuse.

Find Recovery And Leave Your Wallet At Home

Every NA meeting is free to attend, not just the ones in Nashville TN.

Whether you live in Nashville TN or the Middle Tennessee Area, there is someone hoping you will show up to a meeting today.

Whether you’re experiencing an intense level of fear, depression issues, or withdrawal symptoms, the anxiety that can come with showing up to your first meeting is something all of us can identify with. Many of us view our fellow members as family and view our meetings as a place to receive love when we need it most.

Suffering From Drug Abuse and Addiction?

You are not alone. We have been exactly where you are and understand suffering from substance abuse and addiction.

If you don’t believe the above statement, we challenge you to let us share our experience with you and show you the effect recovery has had on our lives.

Support Groups With No Strings Attached

There are no strings attached to NA. We are not affiliated with any other organizations. We have no initiation fees or dues, no pledges to sign, no promises to make to anyone. We are not connected with any political, religious, or law enforcement groups, and are under no surveillance at any time. Anyone may join us regardless of age, race, sexual identity, creed, religion, or lack of religion.

We are not interested in what or how much you used or who your connections were, what you have done in the past, how much or how little you have, but only in what you want to do about your problem and how we can help.

The newcomer is the most important person at any meeting because we can only keep what we have by giving it away.

Over 100 Weekly Meetings Around Nashville TN

Narcotics Anonymous meetings are held at facilities that let us rent space, with many in Nashville locations. They can be a 12-step meeting building, church, or other facility. It is important to note that we are not affiliated with any outside entities (such as a church, treatment center, or outpatient program) – they are simply the location that has agreed to let us a room from them.
